Overview
Project overview
Selling gold online comes with a challenge most e-commerce businesses do not have to deal with.
The product catalog may stay the same, but the value behind it keeps moving.
For Keping.in, gold and silver products are available across different weights, designs, packaging options, and customer types. When the underlying metal price changes, those changes need to be reflected across every relevant product without creating inconsistencies along the way.
Updating each product manually was never going to be a sustainable way to operate.
Keping.in needed a commerce platform where pricing could be managed from a central source, while still supporting the rest of the business, including online orders, customer accounts, reseller eligibility, and special reseller pricing.
Suova developed a commerce system that connects those moving parts into one manageable workflow.
Challenge
A changing gold price can turn into dozens of pricing decisions
In a conventional online store, a product price might stay unchanged for weeks or months.
Gold is different.
Its value changes regularly, and Keping.in carries multiple products across different weights and configurations. A single movement in the base price can affect many products at once.
Without centralized pricing, every adjustment creates repetitive work.
The team would need to identify affected products, calculate new prices, update them individually, and make sure nothing was missed. The larger the catalog became, the harder that process would be to maintain.
Pricing also became more complex once reseller customers entered the picture.
Keping.in needed to serve regular customers and resellers through the same platform while applying different pricing rules and access based on reseller status.
The challenge was therefore bigger than creating an online store.
Keping.in needed a system that could make pricing easier to control as both the catalog and reseller operations grew.
Solution
One source of truth for prices across the catalog
Instead of treating every product price as a standalone value, Suova designed the pricing flow around centralized master data.
Gold and silver prices are managed from a central pricing source. When the relevant master price is updated, linked products can calculate and display their latest selling prices based on the rules defined for each product, weight, and configuration.
This removes the need to open and edit every affected product individually.
The same platform also handles the customer and reseller journey.
Customers can create an account, purchase through the online store, and apply for the reseller program. Purchase history and program requirements can then become part of the reseller qualification process.
Once an account has active reseller status, the system can present the appropriate reseller pricing for eligible products and variants.
Retail pricing and reseller pricing therefore live within the same commerce environment without requiring a separate ordering system.
Project story
Making complex pricing easier to run every day
The goal was not simply to automate a number on a product page.
It was to make the entire pricing workflow easier for the team to operate.
Update the source, not every product
The biggest change starts with how prices are managed.
Rather than thinking in terms of dozens of product prices, the team can manage the underlying gold and silver pricing centrally.
Product-level pricing then follows the relevant rules.
This creates a much cleaner workflow when market prices change and reduces the risk of one product being left behind with an outdated price.
Keep different product configurations in sync
Gold and silver products are not always sold in one standard format.
Different weights, packaging options, designs, and product configurations can affect the final selling price.
The pricing structure allows these differences to remain part of the calculation without forcing the team to maintain every final price manually.
Bring reseller pricing into the same commerce flow
Reseller operations were treated as part of the platform rather than a separate manual process.
Customers can move through registration, purchasing, reseller application, qualification, and active reseller status within the same ecosystem.
Once eligible, reseller accounts can access dedicated pricing while regular customers continue seeing standard retail prices.
This gives Keping.in one system for serving two different customer relationships.
Results
Less manual work behind every price change
90%
Faster Price Updates
Centralized master pricing removes the need to update individual product prices manually.
1 Update
Catalog Wide Pricing
A single gold or silver price update flows through applicable products and variants.
100%
Reseller Pricing Automated
Eligible reseller accounts receive dedicated pricing directly through the commerce platform.
Outcome
A commerce system that keeps up with the market
Keping.in now has more than an online storefront.
It has a commerce system designed around how a precious metals business actually operates.
Daily pricing changes can be managed from a central source instead of becoming a repetitive catalog maintenance task. Product configurations remain connected to the underlying pricing logic, while retail and reseller customers can be managed within the same platform.
For the operations team, this means less time spent maintaining prices and fewer opportunities for inconsistencies across the catalog.
For the business, it creates a stronger foundation to add more products, weights, designs, and reseller activity without making everyday pricing harder to manage.
The result is a platform where the catalog can move as quickly as the market behind it.
